The pro’s strike it there and that’s a tactic. the reason the pros strike the ball to the center of the court is it decreases the angle of return from the opponent. the other reason is that people tend to in order to be consistent, try to get the ball back to the same place that it came from and that’s what people hit in the middle of the court for. The other reason is its hard to change direction of the ball.
