What is the split step?
in tennis the split step is really a pause, the proper name is called prestretch. the reason players do that is to stabilize there balance, so that they can change direction after they’ve hit a shot, so as a player transitions to net, they split step so that they can cover the lob a wide-angle volley survey and stabilize their body to go to execute the next shot. The second thing it does is help the visual skills. So split step for stability.
