How to see USTA categorize your results?

Points per Round Ranking System

If a player plays in fewer events, the points earned in all the tournaments played shall be used for ranking purposes. Players shall be ranked by the number of points they earn. Wins and losses shall not be used in determining a player’s ranking, only the points earned from each tournament will be used in calculating rankings.

1. Eligibility: A player is eligible for ranking if he/she plays in one (1) Category One National Championship.

2. Number of tournaments: Rankings shall be based on the total points received during a calendar year from the five (4) tournaments for men’s singles, individual doubles, team doubles, women singles, individual, and team doubles, in which the player or team received the most points except that:

No more than two sectional championships per player or team may be used for a national ranking.

The results of at least one Category 1 tournament shall be included among the tournament used for national ranking purposes.

3. Points per Round: Points per round are those points awarded based on the round the player or team reached in a tournament.

4. Ranking Tiebreaks:

most points earned in Category I USTA National Championships;

most points earned in Category II USTA National Championships

most points earned in a single tournament.

(For example, if Player A wins a Category I USTA Championship and earns 1000 points and Player B wins 2 Super Category II USTA Championships and earns 1000 points total, Player A will be ranked ahead of Player B, because Player A won more points in a Category I USTA National Championship.)

The USTA National Women’s Intersectional Team Event shall be considered for ranking.
