The follow through on the groundstroke.

I feel this is the single most important characteristic in the stroke. The good players consistently produce a pattern on the ending of each shot and the result is consistency in the stroke. I find that people who do not produce the same ending on the stroke have good and bad days with the stroke. The key to the execution of the shot is a good finish, so I suggest you pose for that picture in world tennis for a split second. This may at first not produce the perfect shot you want but you will surely look good when you strike the ball. The advanced player will use the wrap-around method of finish. This is where the player lets the flow of the racquet travel all the way around his neck or her neck. The purpose of this is to generate more power and spin on the ball. This characteristic is also common among players who use western and semi-western grips when stroking the ball. Top players will always have their non-hitting hand close to the ending to grab or control the racquet for recovery. This allows the player to prepare for the next shot very quickly.
