Some Emergency Signs and Signals

Some emergency signs and signals are very noticeable and can immediately alert someone to an emergency. However some signs such as troubled breathing, deviant behavior, and/or signs of discomfort are less apparent.

Your senses of hearing, sight and smell can help you identify an emergency, so it’s important to always keep them alert.

Examples include:

1. Wrecked/stopped vehicle on the road

2. Broken glass

3. Sparks, smoke, fire

4. Confused or unusual behavior

5. Troubled breathing

6. Unusual sweating

7. Change in skin color

8. Unusual or stronger then normal odor

9. Inappropriate odor

10. Severe yelling/moaning

11. Sudden loud and unidentifiable sound

Always keep your wits in control and do not panic in an emergency situation. This will enable you to perform your skills to the best of your ability.
