Do dampeners really work?
Players feel their racket strings, the reason dampeners are used is really for vibration, if you were to pluck a guitar string and you hear the vibration which makes the sound, the guitar that makes vibrations is what people feel in their handle of the racket and some people just don’t like the noise or they don’t like the sound. So yes they work if you do not like the sound of that kind of noise when the ball strikes the strings and yes they do help stop some of the vibration into the hands from the handle.
