String Eyes on Your Volley

As I teach 5-6 year old juniors the volley technique, I have a lot of fun dressing up my tennis racket with glasses on the string and a ‘worm’ shock absorber as a mouth, to make a face with eyes.  I say to student that when the ball makes contact with the strings make sure as you block, bunt, kiss etc. the ball, you MUST keep your strings (string eyes) on where your target is and ONLY their.  This helps them avoid big swinging on the follow through and helps keep their wrists more firm.  I GUARANTEE it works.  As a player gets more advanced, it still stays true, no across your body follow through, keep your racket strings on the side of your body you are contacting the ball and punch it with no wrist break.
