Successful Lobbing
As I watch many players hit lobs, most levels hit the lob as a ground stroke, but just higher and some time with excessive topspin. These players are trying to win the point right away. I believe a lob sets you up for the next shot and at that point you can become aggressive.
The lob I use is a chip, volley like or slice shot that goes over the head of your opponent in either singles or doubles and right away puts you in a offensive position. Yes, the point still goes on, but you are now the driver. On occasion, when their is room to run and swing, of course a topspin lob is wonderful, but how many really go high enough and how many are short where you lose the point. My theory works, try it and get back to me with your success!
