Depth on Ground Strokes
Our goal as players is to keep our opponents back behind the baseline, that is one of the strategies. To do this, players think hitting hard and harder is the answer. If your stroke is technically correct, a low to high swing with a very nice follow through and hitting harder is not always the answer for depth.
Hitting the ball HIGHER over the net is the answer and it is not just having a high upward follow through. You must think ‘high’ as you swing high. This is crucial as you swing keeping your head down to focus on HIGH over the net. A high, high, high ground stroke, not a lob will get you depth and some short balls to finish the point, I PROMISE!
