What about a slice?
We spend a lot of time working on our forehand game, but what about our backhand? Do you have a one-handed or a two-handed backhand? Is the backhand your weaker shot? Do you spend enough time working on it?
What about the slice? Do you incorporate slice into your backhand game? The slice backhand is not as dominant as it used to be in the past, but is still a very useful and effective tool that adds variety and challenges your opponent. The change in the bounce and ball path causes challenges. I recommend the tool for a change in a common pattern of play.
The Volley?
Many players who love the groundstroke game don’t feel as comfortable at the net. They wonderfully work their points from the baseline and hit a great approach shot, but have trouble ending the point at the net. What happens once a player finds himself at the net? Is his volley technique poor? Does he over hit his volleys?
The average player swings at the ball. They are surprised the ball is easy and overplay the shot.
