What is an Open Stance?

This foot presents the player forward facing the net, this is the common position used today and it’s a byproduct of the grip. The grip used today,which is the semi western hand position on the racket. the reason is players coil their shoulders and uncoiled the upper body and they can recover back into the middle court faster after contact. This is why people hit it with an open stance. the open stance is with the feet in line straight to the net, a little bit apart about shoulder width and then they coil from that position with the upper body in the set-up before striking the ball.
