What is a half volley?
The half volley in tennis is one of the most difficult shots to play, you short hop the ball as it barely gets off the ground. Players have to contact the shot without popping it up, or hitting it long. The problem is hitting it short, the timing and judgment of where the ball is going to land is the hardest part. The players on the tour try to avoid the shot, because the results turn out bad.
